Free!

Once again haven't had the chance to write. Those cursed Dworcs stole my notebook, and ripped out several pages, which I had to find back after I broke free.

An update about the Society:
Shamefully, it disbanded. Many members couldn't keep up with daily life and the Society at the same time, so there was no choice but to disband it. For me, the Society will live on in my heart. I shall never forget them and what they did for me.
Let me, being original, express my thanks:
Thank you!

About the prison break:
Every day my hunger was silenced and my thirst was quenched. Just enough so I would stay alive in my cursed prison, but not enough for me to regain enough energy to break free. Luckily, they forgot about one little thing; my ability to communicate with poisonous beings.
As soon as I gathered enough power to stand up straight and call a single spider, I ordered it to catch some birds for me. Luckily, Poison Spiders are able to catch preys three times their own size, so my loyal little pet came to me with a silk net of parrots, which I eagerly devoured without being seen by the Dworcs.
The more energy I got, the more creatures I could summon to help me out; getting enough energy to break free of my cage was one thing, fighting all those Dworcs, and presumably also Apes, would take at least double. So I had to form a small army.
About a week later, I gathered a small legion of a dozen Centipedes, each providing me with food and allies, and another week later, I had no less than fifty Centipedes, twenty Poison Spiders and about five slimes on my side. And as you all know, a slime multiplies itself when the right conditions are met. So the latter counts for at least ten units.
To order them to jump in my cage and help me break free would not be a clever idea. The dworcs would easily see through my plan and would've killed me on the spot. So instead I divided my army in several groups, each led by a Slime clone, and told each group to find another entrance, creating a massive invasion in Trapwood.
Everything was ready and my army made way, I was left to wait. Still, the same bulky dworcs guarded my prison and I feared at least eighty percent of my army would die in the progress of getting to me, so they wouldn't stand a chance against these monsters. To be sure, I used the little energy I had left to fill the room with a toxic vapour, concentrating on the two guards and suffocating them effectively.
Several hours later, my army arrived. As I predicted, they had suffered many losses, but there were enough creatures left to demolish the cage. As the first poison spider gave a good haul on the metal, it got a shock and died almost instantly. This was a huge drawback, how were we supposed to break free if the cage was electrified?
My beings didn't dare to come anywhere near the cage anymore. So I ordered the spiders to weave a thread as thick as a human arm, and to tie it around the bars. They did, resulting in another five of them dead, but they succeeded. Then the Slimes and the Centipedes started pulling, save from all harm through the thick and non-conducting spider silk, and within minutes, we demolished two bars, enough for me to slip through.
Of course, all this hassle attracted the attention of apes, and me and my army, six Centipedes, seven Poison Spiders and two slimes, faced no less than four Kongras. My entire army attacked one, and I took the other three for my account. Being weaponless, I had to use my fists. Darn, how I am not used to doing that! But I made a lucky punch and knocked one of three uncontious, and by the time I knocked the second down, the Kongra my army was on was so heavily poisoned that he couldn't fight back. Then the remaining two centipedes, one poison spider and one slime and I attacked the last Kongra. Our combination of attacks killed the ape instantly, at the loss of the remaining beings, and I remembered one of the first lessons the Elder taught me. Immediately, I plunged upon the slain monkey and drained his life. Being fully loaded, I, alone, made way back home, glad I survived this most nonsensial adventure.
About time for a cup of tea.

And with this bomshell, I think it's time for me to quit writing. No, not entirely, but enough about me. There are other stories to be told, things I've heard when supping at the pub, stories I gathered on my many travels. And I think I'll try to recall them.
So for now, these are my last personal words. Good bye, my dear diary, and till next time!

Greetings,
V.

From the person behind Silven

And so, the new year has begun. New chances, new opportunities. With a bit of luck, new escapades of this daft old Lizard.
I'm sorry I haven't written a lot lately. Mostly because my life has become hell. I'll not get deeper into that. I'll try to write more, as it seemed to do my English good.
So I hope to see myself typing again. Writing about Silven Viperfang and his life.
I salute thee, readers. Happy new year.

Greetings,
Rick.

Day five in prison.

You'll be amazed what one thinks of when imprisoned...

In Swamps unseen,
mind serene.
With plagued mind,
by unnamed fiend.
Fate foretold,
future behold.

All I could think of today. Maybe more tomorrow.

Greetings,
V.

Have to be quick...

The past few days were horrible! Zathroth be with me; I've been kidnapped.
Let me get my mind in order, quite a lot has happened.

Well, as usually, I was sitting, half asleep, in my chair by the window in the Shack, enjoying a good steaming cup of tea, as the mail came.
I hardly ever get mail, once in a year or something, so a year had to have passed since my last letter, which was a reminder I owed Frodo a bag of gold for that incident with the kettle...
I don't have the letter any more, but it basically said something like:

Dear Silven,

How are you? It's been too long since I last saw your face and heard your words. Might even be so that we've never stood face-to-face. Allow me to introduce myself, the name is Graham Silverstone, and I am the grandchild of Teran, who you must know.
I remembered Teran, all right. He was a good friend of mine until he got brutally murdered. Didn't know he has children!
I still live in Chor, the letter continued, somewhere at the nothern part. I would be honoured if you could come to visit me, Silven! Word has it that you're the current Elder, a legendary position that has been lost for at least a thousant years. Can you imagine how excited I am to hear of you?
Please come soon. You know the way.

Kind regards,
Graham Silverstone.

Now, I should've questioned the letter immediately, but the words caught me. Teran has a grandson and I was going to go back to Chor! I packed my bags and got ready to go. Left the letter on the table and is probably cleaned up by now.

Down the road and through the lands,
on adventure I will go!
In rain and wind and storm and hail,
even heavy thunder and snow!

Unbelievable I still knew that little song. Learnt it in one of my first years amongst the Humans.
Anyways, I walked back to Thais, ignored the staring eyes and headed for the boat.
The harbour was as filty as ever. Crates everywhere, occasional bloodstains and edgy types running about and leaning against the walls.

The boattrip was fairly calm, we sailed fast and no obstacles in our way... But no food either. Luckily, I had a little supply for my own, hidden in a pocket of my hat. As soon as we hit land, I sprang off and marched into the correct direction.

The jungle was as hostile as ever. For anything else than me, that is. I walked in a constant cloud of green, which sapped my energy slowly, but held the apes away. Getting into a fight here would mean disaster for me, due to my lack of food.
So I walked on, and I even saw the smoke rising from where would lie Chor. My heart beat in my throat and I started running, not minding the floor, which collapsed under my feet. I slid down a long tunnel and landed, tired and beaten, in a little cage of wood, stone and iron.
That didn't have to be a problem for me, but as I said before, my food supply was low, and the roof has closed. The floor was hard, and so were the bars, couldn't leave.
I looked around, finding myself being surrounded by several little green critters. And amongst them, a larger thing. A mix of grey and brown, dull eyes that probably hid a most cunning intelligence and a chain of teeth around the neck, teeth I recognized to be Lizard teeth.
"Welcome", it spoke, "to my humble lair. We have made a pact with the Dworcs, and they were so kind to make a trap for us, if we provided them the materials. You know how it goes in the Jungle, Silven. We rule now."

An unspeakable anger rose up in my chest. This was the doing of the Apes! I stood up and tried to burst through the bars, but I failed.
"Don't bother, mate. Our finest craftsmen have smithed something together with those of the Dworcs, and created something the Humans know as Hells steel, hard and inpenetrable. Try to get through... And see what happens!"
All the little green faces grinned at me and started poking me with spears and other weapons they held. This wasn't fun.
"Ah, poor Lizard. No sun no water! You need, yes?", a particularly large Dworc spoke as he made a hole in the ceiling. Too small for me to climb out through, but large enough to let in a decent amount of light and water.
"We'll leave you for now, Silven", spoke the Ape, "Have fun!"
"Wait," I shouted, "You wrote me that letter?"
"Nice to meet you. I'm Graham.", he said with a grin, "Graham Greyback."

And so I'm stuck here. In a cold cage with no food but the occasional worm I get my claws on and no energy to escape. All refuge to the civilized world is this little book of mine.

Heard things of the Society, things I dislike. Hope they respond to the letter I sent them by Centipede.

Greetings,
V.

Memo

Since I have such a horrible memory, I must write a few things down.

-Ask Hester where that cat of hers is. I heard an odd screech when I closed the cellar door last time...
-Keep away tea from Nirdor, he tends to mix it with anything he can find.
-Buy more tea.
-Buy more sugar.
-Write more in this diary.
-Buy note papers.
-Ask someone to wake me when I'm sleeping during my work again.
-Don't fall asleep during work.
-Remember to look through these notes.

I hope this works... I hardly ever look in this book, just tripped over it.

Greetings,
V.

First Entry.

Hm... No, that's not what one writes when writing in a diary, is it? You don't write 'Hm', however often one says it during conversation. I'm so used to it that I even write it. Fine, so be it.

Normally I share no interest in such books, such records, Diaries. But this little pile of paper laid there alone and deserted on the streets of Thais with that oh, so lovely green cover. Hasn't been written in yet so far but the scribbling of a human child. Ripped that page out, but didn't throw away. How they intrigue me, the Humans! Even the brainchild of an infant interests me. I'll keep the drawing.
It's some sort of figure, I assume it was trying to draw itself, holding hands with what appears to be an older specimen. Probably a parent. How lovely, touching perhaps. Love.

Bah, I may not, nay, must not think of that. I've spent days sitting alone in my room, refusing to talk with anyone, even that kind old Dwarf. Yes, I miss Chor! I miss the kind faces, the route to the classroom, the huts and even the lessons of that old, senile Lizard! I miss finding out the plans of recapturing Banuta, I even miss the occasional lost groups of hostile Humans.
...

...Sorry, if that's what one writes to a diary, sorry for that. I was unable to write for a moment. The memory of that fine a town is still fresh in my memory, though it has been several of hundreds of years since I last been there... I guess I should make myself a nice up of tea and wait till the others awake. It's my turn to do the shopping today. Hurrah.

Greetings,
V.
